MWC: the meeting place for innovative technologies<\/h1>\n

At the 2022 edition of the Mobile World Congress<\/strong> (MWC), the world’s largest mobile industry exhibition, global mobile operators, device manufacturers, and tech experts were able to showcase innovative<\/strong> products<\/strong> and technologies<\/strong>. This year, various themes were highlighted such as Fintech, artificial intelligence or cloud networks.<\/p>\n

Among the major themes discussed during this event: the 5G connection<\/strong><\/p>\n

The use cases for 5G<\/strong> continue to grow as the healthcare, automotive, aviation and manufacturing sectors all turn to mobile solutions and prove that 5G is more than just a new generation of technology. By 2025<\/strong>, 5G networks will cover one-third<\/strong> of the world’s population, becoming increasingly fluid<\/strong>, flexible<\/strong> and responsive<\/strong> to users’ needs.<\/p>\n

MWC’s star attraction by Orange: drivers in Barcelona, cars in Paris<\/h2>\n

In Barcelona<\/strong>, where the MWC took place, a very special booth piqued the curiosity of visitors<\/p>\n

On the 5G booth of the Orange<\/strong> lab<\/strong>, visitors were able to use their smartphones<\/strong> to drive<\/strong> miniature<\/strong> cars<\/strong> on a circuit<\/strong> located at Orange Gardens <\/strong>in Paris<\/strong>. The drivers, located more than 1000km away from their cars, were able to drive them in perfect fluidity<\/strong> thanks to the Orange 5G network<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Cameras<\/strong> were installed on the cars, the circuit and on the stand to film the drivers. These different shots were sent to Blastream<\/strong> for professional quality production and broadcasting. Thus, the public could attend the live broadcast of the races with ultra-low latency.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Blastream’s cloud control<\/strong>, the live operators were able to produce the miniature car race live:<\/p>\n

  • Smoothly changing different camera layouts<\/strong> of the track, cars and drivers using the scene builder<\/strong>.\u00a0Each scene was prepared before the live event in the Blastream room<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • The Orange Lab 5G logo<\/strong> displayed on the video with the cloud control’s layer function<\/li>\n
  • An original display<\/strong> of the different cameras with Blastream’s “Speaker in Big<\/strong>” layout<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Behind the scenes of the live video production<\/h2>\n

    With the different camera<\/strong> shots<\/strong>, about twenty scenes were created on the Blastream scene builder<\/strong>. The directors of the live show used a Streamdeck<\/strong> for better fluidity<\/strong> and convenience<\/strong> when changing<\/strong> scenes<\/strong>. The Streamdeck is a tool that allows you to associate a physical<\/strong> button<\/strong> with a command or a shortcut.<\/p>\n

    For this event, each scene<\/strong> from the scene builder was associated<\/strong> with a keyboard shortcut<\/strong>. And on the Streamdeck<\/strong>, the buttons were each associated with corresponding keyboard shortcuts<\/strong>, allowing a smooth and qualitative live rendering.<\/p>\n
